2A means two surface functions are combined on one cover glass: AG anti-glare and AF anti-fingerprint. AG controls glare, while AF improves cleanability and touch feel.
Chemical etching forms the anti-glare texture directly in the glass surface, so the AG texture itself is not a separate deposited matte film. Final durability still depends on the complete glass process, strengthening, handling and any additional coatings.
AG introduces controlled light scattering, so there is always a trade-off between glare reduction and fine-detail clarity. For high-resolution displays, haze, gloss, sparkle and viewing conditions should be validated together on the actual display module.
